Golden State Budget Blues in Yreka

Yreka residents' emotions ranged from mad to scared about the state's economy.  If you just walk the downtown streets, most people have a thing or two to say.  Here are a few opinions regarding the state's IOU's:

Yvonne Payne says it's money she would need right now and an IOU would do her no good.  She says, "It's gas, it's groceries.  Our economy is going down the tube and it's really scary."

Darrell Elkin says, "The government needs to quit giving all this free aid to the illegal immigrants and if they did we would not even have a problem in California."

Richard Mitchell says, "We're spending money on assistance programs and cutting education, fire departments, and police deparments.  And, yet, we cannot cut assistance programs.  It makes absolutely no sense to me."  Mitchell says another part of the problem is people not wanting to raise taxes, while the government just keeps on spending.
