At 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oregon State Police detectives arrested Erin Dean Rieman, 47, at his Pacific City residence. Earlier today the Pacific County, Wash., District Attorney's Office obtained a warrant for Rieman's arrest charging Murder in the Second Degree and Theft in the First Degree. Rieman was lodged in Tillamook County Jail as a Fugitive From Justice pending an initial appearance in Tillamook County Circuit Court.
On the Fourth of July weekend, Adkins left with two men on the 48-foot fishing vessel "Tiger" from Garibaldi to Ilwaco, Wash. Adkins had not been heard from since he was last sighted July 5th at the Port of Ilwaco. A family member contacted Long Beach, Wash., police to report him missing on July 7. One of the men Adkins was with on the boat trip was Rieman, his business partner and co-owner of the fishing vessel. Following Adkins' disappearance, Rieman returned back to the Garibaldi area with the fishing vessel.
The joint ongoing investigation involves OSP Criminal Investigations Division, Tillamook County Sheriff's Office, Long Beach Police Department, and Pacific County District Attorney's Office. Adkins' family were notified of today's arrest.
