73-year-old Woman Attacked by Dogs

KENNEWICK, Wash. (AP) - Police say a 73-year-old Kennewick,

Wash., woman out for a morning walk was attacked by four

neighborhood dogs, including three pit bulls.

Barbara Long was treated for her injuries and released at

Kennewick General Hospital after Saturday's attack.

Officer Ken Melone told the Tri-City Herald the woman was able

to get away from the dog and ran to a neighbor's house for help.

Police and animal control officers captured the dogs and took

them to the Tri-Cities Animal Shelter. Police say Animal control is

investigating and may pursue criminal charges against the dog's

owners.
