Glazier murder trail set to begin
MEDFORD, Ore -- A Jackson County cold case is about to go to trial. In 1996 Kaelin Glazier was headed to church in Ruch, she never made it there. Missing and presumed dead, her body wasn't discovered until years later in 2008. William Simmons, the main suspect in this case, wasn't arrested until 2010.
Now the court has more than 600 potential jurors completing pamphlets, full of questions which will help lawyers involved in this case to determine an impartial jury. They are looking for people who can go into a case like this with an open mind and listen to all the evidence without any kind of predisposition. The 90 questions in the pamphlet range from simple basic information, like your address and school history. Bust many are very specific and detailed, asking anything from what your favorite television programs are, to your association with anyone who's been incarcerated at any point in their past. The court administrator tells News 10 that these questionnaires will immediately disqualify 35 percent of those who return the forms.
Simmons' trial is set to begin Tuesday. News 10 will have an in-depth look at the case that evening in our 6 p.m. newscast.
