CrimeStoppers Case # 061708
Comments 0 | Recommend 0
Police are looking for a suspect in a series of residential burglaries in Medford. Five homes have been broken into over the past two days; two were near the intersection of Saint Clair Street and Westview Court, while others took place on Amherst Way. Police believe they're connected.
In each case a man was seen knocking on doors asking people if they had lost any property before the burglaries occurred. While it's a common tactic for burglars, police say not everything about these crimes is typical. "It's a little bit unusual to have residential burglaries that happen late in the afternoon or early in the evening because it's a higher likelihood that a resident is going to come in and interrupt the burglary," says Lt. Tim Doney, Medford Police Department.
Police are looking for a car that may be connected to the burglaries. They say the suspect may be driving a silver, 4-door Honda Civic with Oregon license plates 426BY. The suspect is described as a white man in his early to mid 20s with short dark hair and a goatee.
The case number is 061708. If you have any information concerning a possible suspect in this crime, call CrimeStoppers at 1-800-3-DETECT. Sonitrol will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and the filing of charges. Callers can remain anonymous.
Police say both electronics and prescription drugs were taken in the break-ins.
