Lightning Zaps McDonald's Worker in Central Point
Lightning shocked a fast-food worker emptying the dishwasher in Central Point Sunday night as a storm knocked out power to thousands of Rogue Valley customers.
Firefighters say the McDonald's employee in Central Point was conscious Sunday and was sent to the hospital for observation. They say lightning apparently hit a pipe on the roof.
Lightning strikes over the weekend caused numerous small fires in Southern and Central Oregon, including one that started Saturday on 2,000 acres of sagebrush land in Sherman County.
About a third of an inch of rain was reported at the National Weather Service's office at the Medford airport.
