Craigslist cleans up its act
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. -- The popular website craigslist is cleaning up its act.
Craigslist is getting rid of the controversial "erotic" section on their website and replacing it with one labeled "adult".
This comes after pressure from the attorney generals of 17 states.
Human rights groups have accused craigslist of being unable to adequately monitor posts and for providing an outlet for prostitutes to generate business, exploitation and human trafficking.
Craigslist operates with a staff of thirty and forty million ads are listed each month.
Before the removal of the erotic section, craigslist users were asked to flag any postings that were inappropriate.
