Twin Attackers Strike Plea Deals

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - Identical twin brothers who teamed up to assault a Florence woman and two children have been sentenced in Lane County after striking last-minute plea deals.
Timothy Franzoni, whose jury trial had already started, got the harsher sentence Thursday. The 30-year-old received a prison term of 10 years and 10 months after pleading guilty to assaulting his
domestic partner, her 12-year-old daughter and her 11-year-old developmentally delayed son.
Michael Franzoni got three years probation after pleading guilty to fourth-degree assault and coercion. Prosecutor Jay McAlpin says the latter charge reflected his blocking the door so none of the
victims could leave.
