Or. Woman Drags Dog Behind Car, Pleads Not Guilty

Comments 0

McMINNVILLE, Ore. (AP) - A McMinnville woman has pleaded guilty

to animal abuse after she dragged a small dog on a leash behind her

car as punishment.

McMinnville police responding to several 911 calls found

67-year-old Ida Grace Mauser dragging the dog behind her car.

Witnesses said the car was not speeding, but it was traveling

fast enough that the dog was unable to stay on its feet all the

time.

Police Capt. Dennis Marks said the dog belonged to another

member of Mauser's family.

He identified it as a Lhasa Apso that suffered damaged pads on

its feet and appeared to have sore legs after the incident.

A judge warned Mauser to never do it again.
