Fire-fighting crews from the Oregon Department of Forestry's Medford Unit found eleven fires in the wake of Saturday's thunderstorms, according to ODF specialists.

Fire Prevention Specialist, Brian Ballou, says the largest fire was 5-acre Bishop Creek Fire near Ruch.

The second, burned one-quarter acre of forestland near Sterling Creek.

Three-fourths of an acre were burned a couple miles south of Gold Hill.

The fifth fire sparked on Johns Peak burning one-half an acre.

Crews are working hard to mop up hot spots and Ballou says firefighters spent hours hunting for lightning-caused fires.
