Police Move Forward in Child Porn Case Involving Jackie O's Half-Brother

Ashland Police move forward in the child pornography investigation involving James Auchincloss.

The 62-year-old Ashland resident is Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis' half brother.

The Chief of Police, Terry Holderness says detectives are preparing to send their evidence to the District Attorney.

The DA will decide whether or not to continue the process of filing charges against Auchincloss.

Police Chief Terry Holderness says, "we understand there's a lot of concern in the community and it will make a lot of people feel better to put this behind us."

Now, armed with evidence seized from Achincloss' computer police are moving forward.

The images, allegedly, found on his computer back in October have been at the Southern Oregon High Tech Crimes Unit in Central Point ever since.

There, detectives say they had to inspect each photograph to see if it was indeed child pornography.

Now the evidence is back in Ashland and getting ready to head off to the District Attorney.

When News Ten talked to people at Auchinloss' home, they said he would not comment on the allegations.

His Medford Lawyer says they're not going to comment unless charges are filed.

Now it's up to the district attorney to decide if and when charges will be filed against this local celebrity.
