Starving horses rescued from NorCal

MEDFORD, Ore. -- Starving horses were rescued from a Northern California home.

Melinda Golis of Jackelope Valley Ranch in Medford brought five decimated horses back to the Rogue Valley, three to her ranch.

One mare, now named Celeste, weighed less than 700 pounds when she brought her back.  Golis says that's more than 250 pounds underweight for a horse.

Celeste also has a foal less than a month that is also at Golis' ranch.

Golis says she's now scrambling to get hay, feed, pellets, hoff and veterinary care for these animals.
