Oregon Killing Joins List of Others in Which Infant Was Cut from Womb
Comments 0 | Recommend 0PORTLAND, Ore. -- The killing of Heather Snively last week in Oregon is the fifth recent instance of a woman in the United States cutting a baby from a slain woman's womb.
In Missouri, Lisa Montgomery was sentenced to death for killing Bobbie Jo Stinnett in 2004. The day after the killing Montgomery was showing off the newborn as her own.
In Illinois, Tiffany Hall is serving life in prison without parole after pleading guilty to killing her pregnant friend, the unborn child and the victim's three children.
In Pennsylvania, Andrea Curry-Demus was accused of killing an 18-year-old in July and claiming the infant son as her own. A judge has ruled Curry-Demus not competent to stand trial. She is in a mental hospital.
In Washington state, Phiengchai Sisouvanh Synhavong (PEE'en-chay SIS'-oo-von SIN'-ha-vong) is awaiting trial on charges that she stabbed a woman to death in Kennewick last year and took her nearly full-term baby, which she tried to pass off as her own.
