KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. (AP) - A Klamath Falls custodian is making
the rare transition from picking up after students to teaching
them.
After taking night classes for nearly a decade, Conger
Elementary School custodian Ken Hendrick has received a bachelor's
degree in elementary eduction.
In September, he'll take a leave of absence from his custodial
job and begin student teaching.
Conger Principal Barbara Headden says Hendrick is a natural with
kids and predicts he will become a great teacher.
Hendrick wants to teach elementary school and hopes, despite a
shaky job market, to remain in Klamath Falls.
