OLCC fines bars in Medford, Ashland for liquor law violations
Comments 0PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Oregon Liquor Control Commission announced Monday that it had imposed fines on two Rogue Valley businesses for liquor law violations.
Stillwater, managed by Christopher Moeschl at 1951 Ashland St. in Ashland; will pay a $4,950 civil penalty or serve a 30-day suspension for failure to maintain proper liquor liability insurance.
For failing to verify the age of a minor before allowing him/her to buy or be served an alcoholic beverage when he/she reasonably appeared to be under 26, Woody’s Pub & Grille, licensed by Molon Labe, LLC, Steven Brown and Trevor Southworth at 42 N. Front St. in Medford, will pay a $1,485 civil penalty or serve a nine-day suspension.
Businesses typically pay the fine because a license suspension prevents the sale of alcohol for that period and ends up being much more costly.
