On the Town for December 5th through 7th
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Events at the Medford Armory, the Craterian, and in downtown Medford
You may not have your Christmas tree set up and decorated yet, but dozens of custom-designed trees are on display right now at the Medford Armory. Here are the details in this week's "On the Town!"
You can celebrate the holiday season and get some great ideas on how to decorate your own Christmas tree all while helping raise money for a special cause. It's time for the annual Providence Festival of Trees! Every year, the festival features stunning creations decorated by local talent. Proceeds from ticket sales go toward various items for the hospital, like the Da Vinci Robotic Surgical System, which they purchased with the funds from last year. This year, organizers say -- they decided to spend the money a little differently. Jodi Barnard is from the Providence Medical C. She said "From helping families on a smaller scale with just getting a walker or a patient needing a transportation voucher to helping those patients who don't have insurance or they're under-insured. It's part of Providence's mission and this year we're asking the community to partner with us to help those less fortunate." The public is invited to check out the creations Friday from 10am to 4pm, Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 4pm. It all happens at the Medford Armory.
Head to Vogel Plaza in downtown Medford and watch as Mayor Gary Wheeler lights the city's Christmas tree. There will also be live music by the North Medford High School Band, the South Medford Choir, and of course a meet-and-greet with Santa! The fun and festivities are this Friday from 5:30pm to 8:30pm.
Or get in the holiday spirit with some Christmas music! It's Christmas with the Trail Band at the Craterian Theater. Listen to nearly every conceivable musical style from bluegrass to Dixieland jazz. The show is this Saturday at 8pm with a matinee Sunday at 3pm.
