On the Town for May 23-25

Events in Grants Pass, Eagle Point and Klamath Falls

Several Memorial Day events are planned this weekend, but none are likely to attract as many people as the annual Boatnik Festival in Grants Pass.

This year is particularly special: it marks the 50th Anniversary of this popular event. All weekend Riverside Park will be filled with a variety of activities for the whole family including a carnival with rides, yummy food, and of course, front row seating to the main attraction the boat races! Catch the drag and sprint boat races Saturday and Sunday starting at 1 o'clock. And Monday the world famous hydroplane races will wow the crowds.

Plus to commemorate the holiday, on Memorial Day there will be a special F-15 flyover at 11AM. And don't forget to grab a seat for the parade which starts at 10AM and runs on 6th Street from "C" to Voorhies.

If you're looking to pay respects to fallen soldiers, Eagle Point National Cemetary invites you to the annual Memorial Day ceremonies. This year's event will feature four speakers, a presentation of colors, and a fly-over. Saint Mary's High School Choir will also be there to perform the National Anthem and a few other songs. The ceremonies begin at 11AM.

And in Klamath Falls, new this year, "Red, White and Blue Forever, Thank You!"

Saturday, Sunday and Monday head to Veteran's Park for live music, keynote speakers, and a presentation of colors.
