Bicycling Boy, 5, Suffers Head Injuries After Truck Hits Him

MERRILL, Ore. - A 5-year-old boy riding a bicycle was hospitalized Wednesday after he was struck by a pickup truck in Merrill.

He was being treated for a head injury and skin abrasions at Sky Lakes Medical Center, according to Merrill police reports.

The truck was travelling at about 20 miles per hour and didn't have enough time to avoid the crash, Merrill Police Sgt. Brian Bicknell said.
