Meshach is at Sancutary One in Jacksonville

Meshach in a new home

JACKSONVILLE, Ore. -- A cat found badly burned has left the vet's office after a number of surgeries.

Meshach moved to Sanctuary One Thursday morning. He was being treated at the Best Friends Veterinary Hospital in Talent, where he was a favorite among his veterinarians.

The orange tabby was found by an Eagle Point couple in December.

Meshach is in isolation at the non-profit but will slowly be reintroduced to other cats. Veterinarians say there is already a waiting list of people wanting to adopt him.

Meshach’s doctors say it was hard to see him go, but they are happy he will soon find a new home.

In the meantime the Jackson County Sheriff’s office is investigating Meschach’s burns as an animal cruelty case.

There is a $5,000 reward for anyone who had information that leads to an arrest.
