At noon, OSP troopers stopped a 2009 Dodge Charger for a traffic violation northbound on I-5 near milepost 11. OSP was assisted at the scene by a Shady Cove police officer and his narcotics detection dog.

Troopers arrested the driver, Raymond E. Chance, 27, from Longview, Wash., and passenger Kevin Dean Christensen (aka: Christopherson), 29, from Rainier, Ore. Both were lodged at the Jackson County Jail for Unlawful Possession, Manufacturing, and Possession of a Controlled Substance – Marijuana.
