This planner wants to bring your party to life

KTVL Resumes Special Report

MEDFORD, Ore. -- Berdina Hermans makes any party come to life. She plans events from as small as a birthday party to as large as a concert.

"Huge concerts, Tanya Tucker, Keb' Mo', Clay Walker," Hermans said. "Huge events, weddings up to 1,000 people or radio talk shows, CEOs, family events."

Hermans is a good listener with a creative imagination.

"I want to hear their hopes and their dreams and desires and then I want to read that back to them, I'm going to go over it before I even start a plan," she said. "Then I might add some of my own characteristics, something unexpected they didn't think about and then play that back to them and see what they think, usually they love it."

Her talent comes from experience and it's in her blood.

"I came from an artistic background, my father was an artist and that kind of went down the family tree," she said.

Event planning, to her, is like a work of art.

"Lighting, placement of objects, where you want people to gravitate to, what you want to show your audience, things that you would put together just to make it all pop," she said.

When it comes to event planning, she does it all, from preparing to purchasing to putting it all together.

"I have a passion for event planning, I bring my creativity to the table and I treat people like family," Hermans said.
