OSP arrests Yuba City Man after 2 pounds of pot are found in pickup bed
Comments 0LaPINE, Ore. -- An Oregon State Police trooper arrested a Yuba City, California man Saturday morning during a traffic stop on Highway 97 south of LaPine after discovering approximately 2 pounds of marijuana in the man's pickup bed.
At 10:43 a.m. OSP Trooper Rich Brannin stopped a 1985 Toyota pickup displaying California license plates on Highway 97 near milepost 178 for an equipment violation. Trooper Brannin contacted the nervous driver, identified as TIMOTHY BRIAN PHIPPS, 27, from Yuba City, Calif., who subsequently told the trooper he had about 2 pounds of marijuana in the bed of the pickup.
A search of the pickup's bed led to the discovery of the marijuana as indicated by PHIPPS with an estimated value of about $5,000.
PHIPPS was arrested and lodged at Klamath County Jail for Unlawful Possession, Manufacture and Delivery of a Controlled Substance - Marijuana.
