Crime Stoppers 102108
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Sex Offender in Talent
In this week's Crime Stoppers, Talent Police are looking for your help to catch a convicted sex offender who has failed to check in with his probation officer.
24-year-old Keith Rogers was required to check in with his probation officer once a year, and notify police if he moved, but during a check earlier this year, police discovered Rogers wasn't at his listed address. In fact, he's had no contact with police or probation officers since his last arrest in March, 2006. However, police believe he may still be in the region.
Talent Police Chief Mike Moran said, "He does have connections here in talent, I believe he was originally from the brookings area had is also rumored to be in northern California."
Moran also said sex offenders are required to check in with parole officers within ten days of their birthday each year. He says the extra supervision is required because sex offenders are more likely to re-offend than other criminals.
This case number is102108. If you have any information concerning a possible suspect in this crime, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-3-DETECT. Sonitrol will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and the filing of charges, and you can remain anonymous if you would like.
