In this week's Crime Stoppers, the Medford Police are looking for your help to catch the person who has robbed numerous Purple Parrot locations over the past six months.
Police have released a video of the most recent robbery, where a masked man entered the Purple Parrot on Pacific Highway, showed a chrome semi-automatic pistol, and demanded money from the cashier. The robber got cash and cigarettes and left the scene on foot. Investigators believe the same man robbed the same Purple Parrot location in September and also hit five other locations. They say they're concerned the suspect may attempt further robberies.
Medford Police Sgt. Mike Budreau said, "Any time you have someone committing a crime with a handgun, there's the propensity for something to go wrong and violence to occur. And we don't want that to happen."
The suspect is described as a white male with a slender build. Police say he's about six-one and was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. He often wears white sneakers with black shoelaces. Tonight's case number is 111108. If you have any information concerning a possible suspect in this crime, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-3-DETECT. Sonitrol will pay up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and the filing of charges, and you can remain anonymous if you would like.
Police say they're confident someone in the community knows the identity of this robber, now they just need that person to come forward.
