Local Fans and Businesses React to Jackson's Death

If you turned on the Radio, TV or the Internet Friday, it was all Michael Jackson all the time.

For one Medford Radio DJ it was a tribute he didn't take lightly.

And for a memorabilia store at the mall, it's days like this he never looks forward to.

The famous beats of Billy Jean pound in Gemineye's booth during the "Back in the Day Kiss Cafe" Friday.

This day the 20 minute mix was devoted soley to Jackson.

"Billy Jean, the first time I heard that on the radio I could not stop listening to it," Gemineye says.

Hooked like many on Michael Jackson, a man DJ Gemineye's built his own legacy on.

"I try to use that showmanship and that energy that he brings on stage when I do my stuff."

Kiss FM in Medford is devoting hours to Michael Jackson hits for a community just one community affected by this sudden death.

Across town the mall's selling his records and the collectors are changing his plaques to tributes.

Engraving each one at a time, with birth and death dates.

Wendell Hunter says people are coming in for Jackson pieces to add to their collections, but he says it's deaths like this he never looks forward to.

One listener at the radio station called and says, "everyone has a Michael Jackson memory or a story from their childhood or whoever and I know people want to call in and talk about it I'm glad that I have this opportunity."

For DJ Gemineye, Michael Jackson's legacy will always be in rotation.

Prices for Michael Jackson memorabilia is skyrocketing across the country.

But for the Awestruck store at the Rogue Valley mall, the plaques are set at a price.

A price that doesn't change after the celebrity passes away.
