Tuber Rescued from Class 4 Rapids in Gold Hill

A swift-water rescue team pulled a man from Class IV rapids near Gold Hill Friday afternoon after his attempt to tube through the run developed problems.

A rescue team from the Jackson County Sherrif's Department plucked the man from a rocky outcrop in the middle of the Rogue River. He and a friend were reportedly attending a festival in Gold Hill Friday when they decided to tube through the river's rapids near town. The friend made it through the rapids unhurt.

The man reportedly was unhurt, though he was stranded on the island for a couple hours.
