UPDATED 9:15 AM: Medford police investigating body found off Biddle Road
MEDFORD, Ore. -- Police say a body found off Biddle Road early Monday morning is that of a known 85-year-old transient. They believe he died of a medical problem, perhaps a heart attack.
Police taped off an area in the 2700 block of Biddle Road after employees of a temporary employment agency reported finding the body in the entrance to a parking lot from Knudsen Road at about 7:30 AM.
A Medford police detective on the scene said he recognized the man as a white male transient. His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
The detective said the man's belongings were scattered in the area where he was found, at first leading them to believe foul play was involved. But they now believe he died of a medical problem. Police found a large amount of cash on the man.
We'll post more information as it becomes available.
