Man missing after 4-wheeling trip into Tiger Canyon

PENDLETON, Ore. -- Searchers have been looking for a 32-year-old Milton-Freewater man last seen near Tiger Canyon in the Umatilla National Forest.

Relatives say Jason Sartin and a friend had gone four-wheeling in the area last week.

Umatilla County Sheriff's Deputy Rhiana Sheridan says Sartin was last seen by the friend driving down a forest road in a pickup.

Cody Sartin, the missing man's brother, told the East Oregonian newspaper of Pendleton that friends and family started searching Saturday, and Umatilla County Search and Rescue joined the effort a day later.

The deputy says workers will try to locate Sartin's phone using a GPS system, but the phone may be turned off or have a dead battery.
