Fuego GM Hired as Comets Soccer Coach
CENTRAL POINT, Ore. -- Crater High School has named Rael Hirndon as head coach of the boys' soccer team.
Hirndon replaces Chris Gallegos and will take the helm for the Comets in the 2009-2010 season.
Hirndon is a 2008 graduate of Southern Oregon University and is founder, current general manager and captain of the Southern Oregon Fuego semi-pro soccer team. He was a professional soccer player in El Salvador.
Hirndon, who helped develop SOU's soccer program, hopes to bring a continued winning mentality to the Comets. His experience includes coaching stints with Illinois Valley High School, Ashland High School and SOU.
