Hundreds of soldiers seek employment at job fair
Comments 0CENTRAL POINT, Ore. -- Hundreds of soldiers looking for jobs in our area flocked to Crater High School with resumes in hand.
A job fair at the Central Point school brought job opportunities for veterans hunting for work since their return home to Southern Oregon.
Organizers said it was an effort to match soldiers who need work with employers who have work and they said it was a huge success.
One soldier, Dale Hawkins, brought his wife along and checked every employer out.
Senator Ron Wyden was their to show his support. He calls the job fair a "soft landing" for soldiers who've been through so much and deserve all the help they can get adapting back into society.
He said he was also at the job fair for veterans in Redmond and said there was a huge turnout for that too.
