Medford police searching for would-be robbery suspect

Comments 0

MEDFORD, Ore. -- A would-be robbery at a Medford lottery gaming outlet never happened, but police are looking for a suspect.

An employee at a check-cashing retail store said she overheard a customer possibly talking about robbing the Duck-In Deli nearby in Winco Plaza on Barnett Road.

According to the manager at Duck-in, that employee called him and said "Don't freak out" but someone is coming to rob the place. He called 9-1-1.

Suspect went in the deli and subsequently left without incident.

A Medford police officer on scene said they were searching for the suspect, described as a black male with neck tattoos, and the only possible crime would be disorderly conduct.

The manager at Duck-In Deli, an Oregon Lottery gaming venue, said he thinks the suspect may be the same person who robbed a Shell gas station at the Rogue Valley Mall late Monday night.
