Four-year-old in Portland hospital after lawn mower accident severed his leg
Comments 0WHITE CITY, ORE., -- A four-year-old White City boy will undergo another surgery on his recently amputated leg in a Portland hospital after lawn mower accident Saturday night.
The boys family says Louwashyouwa King slipped out of his house Saturday evening, ran outside into the backyard, slipped on wet grass and fell into his father's path before his father could even see him in the backyard.
The boy's lower right leg was severed in seconds, according to authorities.
Now the boy's father, Carry King, tells News10, he'll never get over what happened to his little "live wire".
News 10 was in the hospital with the family when they were loading up Louwashyouwa into the Mercy Flights helicopter to move to Doernbecher Children's Hospital in Portland.
There, his family says, the hospital is better equipped to fit such a young child with a prosthetic.
The Sheriff's Ofice says the case is still under investigation.
The family is in the process of setting up a donation fund at Premier West banks in the mother, Bobby King's name.
