Body of missing 19-year-old recovered from Iron Gate Lake
IRON GATE LAKE, Calif. -- The body of a 19-year-old man missing for a week was found Saturday morning about 100 yards south of the Jenny Creek Bridge.
Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Deputies, the Sheriff Office Dive Team, the Sheriff’s Office Water Safety Unit, volunteers of the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Posse in conjunction with four water certified cadaver dogs with their handlers and the Klamath County Sheriff’s Office Dive Rescue Team, had responded to Iron Gate Lake on Saturday to search for Daryl Dyke Jr. who had been reported missing on Nov. 7, a continuation of the week-long search of the area.
As the search was being organized, a Sheriff’s Deputy who was preparing to search along the north shore of the Jenny Creek Cove, saw a partially submerged body about 25 feet off-shore. The deceased was removed from the water and identified at the scene; no obvious signs of trauma were found.
An autopsy to determine exact cause of death will be scheduled for early this week.
