Oregon Woman Sentenced for Housing 143 Dogs in Feces-Caked Home
Comments 0 | Recommend 0HILLSBORO -- An Oregon woman convicted of animal neglect has been sentenced to five years of probation and 240 hours of community service.
Carolyn Ohlhauser was also ordered Monday to pay $10,000 to cover veterinary costs and upkeep for the 143 dogs and other animals that were removed from her property in rural Washington County last spring.
Authorities said the 60-year-old allowed the dogs, mostly Chihuahuas, to live in a rat-infested area of her home that was caked with urine and feces.
Ohlhauser will serve probation in Benton County, where she has moved to live with her father.
