One on One With Senator Clinton
As Senator Hillary Clinton heads down the last stretch of this year's primary elections she says she wants Oregonians to know their vote can make a difference.
Thursday night, Clinton spoke in Ashland and Central point. Before taking the stage in central point, I met with Senator Clinton for a one on one interview.
Senator Clinton is hoping for Oregon's vote. She says she has solutions for the issues that face the nation and our state.
"I have been very specific in offering solutions as I've traveled across the country in my campaign. And I think Oregonians are pretty down to earth, practical people. They want to know what you're going to do," says Senator Clinton.
And what does she plan to do? Clinton says she knows what matters to Oregon and if elected president she plans to work as partner with the state on local issues.
"In this part of Oregon, for example, the county payment issues. I've joined legislation with Senator Wyden to try to fix that, to get them back to a multiple year county payment system."
She also says she'll create green jobs for Oregon, support the state on its path to energy security... And will protect old growth forests. If Oregon voters will support her, Senator Clinton says she plans to shock the nation.
"I want Oregonians to know what I stand for and I believe if every voter in Oregon looked at my record, looked at my plans, understood the Oregon compact, I would do very well here."
She says this is the closest primary election race in 40 years and that every Oregon vote can make a difference this year.
"I hope people will really pay attention to this campaign, follow it closely. There is so much at stake. It is really a transformation election and I think if people do really look at both of us they will find that I'm on their side and they can count on me."
Our interview wrapped up moments before she walked into Olsrud Arena to begin her rally. For the complete interview check out my blog.
