Driver Hits Three Cars, Flees on Foot
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Police are looking for a driver who fled a traffic stop and crashed into three cars in Medford. Phoenix Police tried to pull a car over for a traffic violation but the driver wouldn't stop and began driving recklessly.
Police say they called off their pursuit to prevent the driver from crashing but by the time he reached Medford several reports of erratic driving had been called in, including reports that he was driving at high speeds and on the wrong side of the road.
After hitting three cars at Riverside Avenue and Stewart Avenue, the driver fled on foot leaving the passenger of his car and others to be taken to the hospital, all with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say there could be any number of reasons the driver wouldn't stop for them.
"It could be an intoxication. It could be a suspended or revoked license. It could be the subject's wanted on a warrant. It could be a number of things. I can guarantee you that there's going to be a couple of other reasons why he didn't want to stop for police," says Deputy Chief Tim George with the Medford Police Department.
Witnesses say the man may have fled north or west from Riverside and Stewart. Traffic was backed up in the area while crews cleaned up the wreck.
