K.Falls Arrest: Child Slept in Car While Mom Got Drunk In Lounge
Comments 0 | Recommend 0KLAMATH FALLS -- The authorities placed an 8-year-old Klamath Falls girl in protective custody after it was discovered that she had been left alone in a car while her mother spent hours in a lounge.
The mother, 44-year-old Kimberly Charlene Harris, has been jailed on accusations of child neglect and reckless endangerment. She was being held on $10,000 bail.
Klamath Falls police say Harris had been drinking to the point where she eventually got cut off from service at Mollie’s Restaurant and Lounge at 3818 Highway 97. A lounge employee and another patron followed Harris to the parking lot where they managed to get the keys to her car.
That's when someone discovered the girl in the back seat, covered in a blanket. Police estimate she had been there for up to three hours Sunday night.
