Human Remains Found At Lower Table Rock

 Investigators are trying to identify the remains found at the base of the Lower Table Rock yesterday morning.

The remains were found by some hikers.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office says the remains had been there for a long time. There was clothing on the remains, and it appears they are someone who fell from near the top of Lower Table Rock. Investigators say evidence indicates this was an accidental death.

The Sheriff's Office says access to the area was extremely hazardous and transporting investigators to and from the scene as well as removing the victim's remains required the use of the Sheriff's Office helicopter.
