Oregon Driver Busted With .469 Blood Alcohol Level
Comments 0 | Recommend 0The Oregon State Police have preliminary figures on highway fatalities and DUII arrests... and it includes the arrest of one driver who's blood alcohol level of .469 was nearly 6 times the legal limit of .08.
The unidentified woman was in a vehicle that slid off the road in the Crooked River Ranch area of central Oregon. After the blood test she was taken to a Redmond hospital and cited for DUII.
Statewide there were 50 DUII arrests from Wednesday evening through midnight Sunday, about the same number as last year. 8 of the arrests were by troopers working out of the Central Point office, and 4 were in Klamath Falls area.
There were five fatalities on the state's highways over the holiday, up from two last year, but close to the average of four over the past ten years. One of those crashes killed a 25 year old Shady Cove man on Christmas Eve.
Law enforecement officers are preparing for the extended New Year's holiday weekend, 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 31st, through 11:59 p.m., Sunday, January 4th. During last year's 78-hour New Year's holiday period, four people died in four separate traffic crashes on Oregon roads.
