OSP Seeks Info From 2 'Good Samaritans'
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Oregon State Police want to talk to two unidentified men who performed CPR on the victim of a minor motorcycle crash this morning near Eugene. The men worked to
save the operator until medical personnel arrived.
At
approximately 5:45 a.m. today a 1999 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by
Ricky Dean Wilson, 53, from Springfield, was westbound on Beltline
Road and exited at the Prairie Road off-ramp. As Wilson was slowing
down he may have had a medical problem and his motorcycle tipped onto
its side.
Two unidentified men along with other passing motorists stopped at the
scene. The two men began CPR, including mouth-to-mouth resuscitation,
and continued until medical personnel from Lane Rural Fire District
arrived and took over lifesaving efforts.
OSP Trooper Casey Codding said one man may have been the driver of a log
truck that stopped, and the other man who was only described as wearing
a black sweatshirt was believed to have been in another unidentified
vehicle. Both men left without investigators being able to identify
them and obtain statements.
Wilson was transported by ambulance to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend for continued treatment.
OSP asks that these two unidentified Good Samaritans contact Lt. Mike Bloom at (541) 726-2536, Ext. 218.
