JoCo Fair Ends Amid Triple Digit Temperatures
Triple digit heat didn't stop hundreds of people from turning out for the last day of the Josephine County Fair Saturday, but it may have put a damper on revenues.
Fair organizers say they haven't seen heat like this in years, and they say it's hurting the fair.
They say numbers have been pretty "average."
But people aren't staying as long and many are waiting to come until nightfall when things cool down.
The heat affected everything from the vendors to the rides, and 4-H students say they had to work extra hard to keep the animals happy in the blistering heat.
Organizers say the last time it was this hot during the Josephine County Fair was in 2002 when temperatures hit 108 two days in a row.
