CENTRAL POINT, Ore.-Original Bobbio's Pizza was selected as the first Central Point business to be the target of a cash mob on Saturday.
The idea is for drones of people to fill the selected store and purchase from the business.
Debbie Saxbury of Central Point posted the idea on her Facebook page, Central Point Oregon-What's Happening Around Town, and hopes to continue selecting other businesses in her city for cash mobs.
Original Bobbio's has been open since Sep. 2009 and is located at 313 Oak Street.
Rick Deates and his wife took over ownership of the restaurant on Jan. 1.
Deates said they were very busy for lunch Saturday afternoon, and expect a lot of business for dinner.
The cash mob went from 11 a.m.-10 p.m.
The owner said 10 percent of the Saturday's proceeds will go to charity.
Deates said his pizza restaurant stands out from the rest. "We make all our dough fresh. We make all our sauce fresh. We want to be very involved with the community, with the sports teams, with the schools. We're getting prepared to put up all logos on the wall from School District #6," said Deates.
Deates added, his business delivers free of charge within a three-to-four mile radius.
