It's for survivors of domestic violence, specifically children who've had a parent murdered.
Jessica's friend and former coworker Lance Goodrich says while the fund is run by Jackson County it's available to victims from across the region.
According to Goodrich the fund can have many uses, "it's just available for anything they need, anything you could possibly want, if you need new clothes sign up and see what they can do, if you need to go to school, sign up and see what they can do for you."
This new fund is in addition to the one already set up by the staff at Howiee's on Front for Bethany's children. Goodrich says family came first for Bethany, "her children were so important to her and this is the least we can do for them so every year as I'm concerned we'll have a birthday party for her."
For the last two years Howiee's has had a birthday party for Bethany to raise money for her kids, at the party in September the bar brought in more than $8,000. The year before was more than double that was raised.
If you'd like to donate to the new Jessica Fund there are t-shirts you can purchase. The shirts are $20 each and you can make checks payable to "Jessica's Fund" and mail them to: JCCADSV. PO Box 1382, Medford, OR 97501.
