Eric One Ziegler entered no contest pleas to two charges of identity theft and one charge of theft in the second degree on Monday, according to a press release from the Jackson County District Attorney's office.
A Jackson County circuit judge sentenced Ziegler to 40 months in the custody of the Oregon Department of Corrections. Once he is released, he will be on one-year post prison supervision.
Ziegler was indicted in two cases on June 27 and July 10. Both indictments stem from cases where Ziegler stole personal information from two victims.
On April 28, Ziegler broke into a car at the Rogue Valley Medical Center and stole a purse, according to the DA's press release. The purse's contents were valued at over $100. The purse also contained several credit and debit cards.
He was not able to use the cards.
On May 3, he came to possess a stolen check book. He then filled out those checks that resulted in a $500 loss, the press release said.
Medford Police received an anonymous tip that led them to Ziegler. They arrested him on May 21 on a parole warrant.
