ONTARIO, Ore -- The latest raid happened this week in Malheur County where police say there was criminal activity going on.
Malheur County Sheriff's Office, Ontario Police, Oregon State Police and several Idaho agencies were all in on Tuesday's raid.
Sheriff Brian Wolfe says it wasn't just a single farm. In fact eight total search warrants were served.
Wolfe says authorities suspect growers involved in the bust are taking in profits from their crop, which is illegal.
Medical marijuana advocates say authorities are just looking for a reason to bust growers. Alternative medicine activists say cash coming in isn't necessarily drug money.
Growers are allowed to recoup costs but not make a profit. Melanie Barniskis with Ashland Alternative Medicine says growers often take donations from patients and it's not illegal.
Wolfe says this isn't an attack on the medical marijuana community.
"The people that have or use medical marijuana cards, and are obeying the law, you know, they're not going to hear from us, they're not going to see us," Wolfe said.
A representative from Southern Oregon Alternative Medicine said the organization is not worried about it's patients or growers. Saying as long as a person follows the law they won't have a problem.
Wolfe says those involved in the bust could face a number of charges, from manufacturing of a controlled substance, to delivery of a controlled substance.
For now all the documents and warrants in this weeks case are sealed.
