ASHLAND, Ore. -- Mt. Ashland employees are helping an employee who lost his home in a fire.
The home of Doug "Malone" Knudson and his family was destroyed in Talent earlier this month. On Saturday there will be a benefit dance party on the mountain to raise money for the family. The East Main Band will be performing and doors will be open from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The party is free to get in, and all of the money made from beer and wine will go to the family.
"He's been with the ski area for 24 years and everyone knows Malone up on the mountain," Mt. Ashland Ski Park spokesman Rick Saul said. "And this is just something we feel we need to do."
Saul says they will be accepting donations at the door.
There is also an account set up for the family at Premier West bank in Ashland. You can donate under the Doug Knudson fund.
