Around 7 p.m., police officers from the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety responded to a disturbance in the park, 129 NW F Street.
The call said one person was stabbed.
When police arrived, they found a woman who had suffered multiple knife wounds, including one to her neck. The victim was taken to Asante Three Rivers Medical Center in serious condition.
Detectives identified a suspect, but did not talk to her at the scene. Around 7:44 p.m., police found Angela R. Smith, 29, at the Crown Market, 225 SE Eighth Street. The market is just a few blocks from the park.
Smith had minor injuries and was treated at the hospital. She was then arrested and taken to the Josephine County Jail. She was arrested on the suspicion of assault.
