On Nov. 19, Medford Police began investigating the theft after receiving a report that six storage units had been broken into at the Oak Grove Mini Storage, 241 Oak Grove Rd.
Detectives learned the suspect gained access to the storage facility by using the gate access code. Police say the code is unique to each renter and were able to trace the code back to a woman.
Police found the woman in Grants Pass and determined she was involved, according to a press release from the Medford Police Department.
As detectives continued their investigation, they were led to a home in 6600 block of Westside Road in Cave Junction.
Medford officers, with assistance from the Josephine County Sheriff's office, went to the home on Nov. 27.
The suspect, 32-years-old Matthew David Granger, ran from the home and led police on a foot chase through the nearby woods. Police say he had an outstanding felony parole warrant.
Granger was caught and arrested on the suspicion of aggravated theft and burglary.
Detectives still had one more piece of the puzzle to solve: where was the trailer? Their investigation led them to Selma, where they found the trailer.
At this time, police have not recovered other stolen property from the storage burglaries.
