MEDFORD, Ore.-22-year-old Nathan Charles Wallace broke into the Fuhrman's home on Mary Street through their back window in Medford Wednesday just before 6:30PM.
The Fuhrman's noticed an unfamiliar bike in front of their house when they pulled up.
Their neighbors had also noticed the bike earlier when they had arrived from walking their dogs.
Neighbor, Jennifer Dollarhide, had already called police to report the strange bike.
Dollarhide says when the Fuhrmans walked inside they found Wallace hiding in a closet.
Emily Fuhrman--pregnant--ran out as she called 9-1-1.
Her husband, Cody Fuhrman, held Wallace at gunpoint.
Robert Goecker rushed into his own home next door to grab his gun and ran into the Fuhrman's house to help.
Goecker says when he entered, he saw his neighbor had Wallace held a gunpoint, but he would not listen to Fuhrman's commands and seemed to be trying to get out the window.
Goecker says he, "didn't want to kill him," but he wanted to make sure Wallace did not get away.
Goecker put his gun down, grabbed Wallace in a choke hold and Fuhrman joined. They held him until Wallace went unconcious and police arrived.
Meanwhile, their wives waited outside.
Jennifer Dollarhide says she was "grateful" Cody was there. She gives credit to both her husband and neighbor for getting Wallace under police custody.
When Medford Police arrived Wallace was gaining consciousness; he was arrested and taken to Providence Medford Medical Center for examination.
Wallace was under the influence of drugs and in possession of methamphetamine and heroin.
He also had several stolen items on him from both the Fuhrman's home and a purse he stole from a vehicle on Mary Street. The purse has still not been found.
Leutenant Mike Budreau of Medford Police Department told News Ten Wallace slipped out of his handcuffs on his way out of the hospital and escaped.
Medford PD established a perimeter and found Wallace three hours later just after midnight when a Medford resident called in a suspicious person at an apartment complex on Spring Street.
Wallace was arrested once again and is being held on $177,000 bail.
He is charged with first degree burglary, third degree robbery, resiting arrest, second degree escape, second degree theft, three counts of third degree theft, two counts of unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, third degree criminal mischief and possession of Methamphetamine and heroin.
Leutenant Mike Budreau says when people escape this way, it is usually smaller males or women. He plans on having a meeting to possibly change policy to keep this from occurring in the future.
