MEDFORD, Ore. -- Kids Unlimited teaches kids more than just skills through its basketball program.
"Basketball teaches our kids to work together and the meaning of leadership. It gives these kids a chance to be a part of something great," said Executive Director Tom Cole.
Many kids in the valley grow up playing sports at Kids Unlimited, including Yaremi Mejia.
Mejia, a senior at South Medford High School, has been going to Kids Unlimited since she was in the fifth grade playing basketball.
Now, Mejia is in her senior season at South Medford as the starting point guard on the women's basketball team and will be playing at Portland State University next year.
"I am very blesses to have this opportunity to play in college. It is my dream and I couldn't be more happy about it," said Mejia.
Right now, the lady panthers, are 5-0 in conference standings.
"Our goal as a team is to win another state title and I believe we have the team again this year to do it," said Mejia.
